Management Structure
The senior management structure of the ICR consists of the following roles:
Chief Executive – Professor Peter Rigby
The Chief Executive is responsible to the Board of Trustees for the overall direction of the ICR’s management, research and academic activities and the effective prosecution of its work; and for recommending the allocation of resources.
The Chief Executive is also the Director of Research and as such is responsible for the formulation of research strategies and priorities taking account of the advice of the Joint Research Committee; and for the Chester Beatty and Haddow Laboratories the planning and implementation to achieve research strategies and priorities; and the management and implementation of associated resources and regulations (including health and safety).
Secretary of the ICR – Mrs Cathy Scivier
The Secretary of the ICR is responsible directly to the Board of Trustees in her capacity as its Secretary and as Company Secretary; and for recommending the resources that are available for allocation.
The Secretary of the ICR as Head of Corporate Services is responsible to the Chief Executive for the formulation of all support service strategies, and the planning and implementation to achieve them; the evaluation of support service outcomes, and the management and implementation of associated resources and regulations (including health and safety).
Academic Dean and Head of Clinical Laboratories – Professor Alan Horwich
The Academic Dean is responsible to the Chief Executive for determining (subject to the advice of the Academic Board) education strategies and priorities, and the planning and implementation to achieve them and the evaluation of education and training outcomes.
The Head of the Clinical Laboratories is responsible to the Chief Executive, and in consultation with the Director of Clinical Research & Development, for the planning and implementation to achieve research strategies and priorities; and the management and implementation of associated resources and regulations (including health and safety).
