Translational Molecular Oncology

Identifying the critical genetic events that drive tumours is the cornerstone of individualised targeted cancer treatment, i.e. the process by which we dynamically match cancer patients with the most appropriate molecularly targeted drug(s). This can only be achieved by biomarkers that predict for and measure clinical responses as well as pharmacologic activity. This starts with the successful integration of molecular biology and medicine and we see our lab at the interface of these disciplines - building the molecular tools for linking biomarkers with therapeutics.
The Translational Molecular Oncology Team is a joint initiative with The Institute's Section of Medicine.
